Real Love

As we approach 2006 we think of ways that we might change or do some things differently. I think that is a good thing. We can always improve in different areas of our lives. But I think a change that will make the most difference is knowing what love really is.

The dictionary defines love as an intense feeling of deep affection; a deep romantic attachment to someone; a great interest and pleasure in something. That's a pretty good description. But the Apostle Paul had a different description in 1 Corinthians 13. He said love is patient and kind, not jealous, doesn't brag and is not jealous. He went on to say that love bears all things and endures all things. In other words, love never fails. It's the way to go. Seems to me the way to love is to love others like I want to be loved (Now there's a golden statement!).

Wouldn't it be great if we could love like Paul described. Not hate or kill anyone but genuinely care about others. Sounds like a good way to start off 2006, or TODAY.

Have a blessed day.

Sincerely,

Pastor Gary
